Greetings in the name of the Lord! I would like to apologize for such a gap in newsletters. There are a few changes that have occurred so I will try to get everyone up to speed. For the most part the Road Angel is operating just like always. I was appointed Interim Director at the September board meeting. Dock and Mary Hinman are still with us. They have done a marvelous job of getting us to this point, and now as we are expanding and seeing more drivers than ever. We have added another layer of management to help with the growth. On we go!
Drivers, we are looking forward to seeing you at the Jamboree September 19 – 22nd 2019. We are looking for your input on what you would like to see at the Jamboree. We are thinking of a tent meeting and barbeque for starters. We will have music and ministry of course but what would make it an event for you the driver? What would make you want to schedule the weekend to be with us? Now for some things about the Road Angel! We have Steve Haile with us again and welcome him! We have the double wide being torn down and are looking for another one to take its place to house more volunteers. We are preparing to remodel upstairs to create another room and install a bathroom in between 2 sleeping rooms. We are also looking for more volunteers. If you can volunteer for a week, or a month please let us know. We have procured another bill board for those eastbound to see. It is just about a mile from exit 61 that will inform drivers about our exit. We are constantly updating our website and increasing our social media presence.
Randy Kirkland, Jeff Deunk, and I attended the Midwest Truck and Trailer Show in Peoria Illinois February 1 and 2nd. Our booth was a success and we talked to about 400 drivers. We are preparing for the Mid America Truck Show March 28-30 there will be around 65,000 or more attendees! Stop by and see us!
Friends, all the above is to increase the number of drivers that come in the lot. Why? In the end it is to show them the Love of God. Luke 14:23 And the lord said unto the servant, “Go out in to the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled”. We don’t want to miss any in this last day harvest. We meet their needs and are there for them as a true friend they can trust. Building a relationship with them opens their heart to receive what God has for them. Over the last 40 years ACT has reached many hundreds maybe even thousands of drivers through being there for them in a challenging industry. We expect to be here until Jesus comes to reach more.
I want to thank all of you who have contributed to the ministry or become members. Your support is very valuable. We are planning on putting up new signs, repaving the parking lot, and many other projects. Remember Jesus is in the boat with us! Help us Roll on with Jesus!
